Switching from KWLS

When an MLS approves an IDX application, the listings in a

Market

Leader

Professional Edition website are switched from KWLS to an MLS IDX feed. This benefits you by having more listings for consumers to search and leading to more engagements and conversions.

Once you switch to the MLS IDX, KWLS is no longer available. The MLS does not support co-mingling of data.

Because listing ID numbers from an MLS are different from the listing ID numbers in KWLS, anything that uses a KWLS ID number is affected and must be updated, including the following.

  • Craigslist
If you have posted to Craigslist with a KWLS listing you must repost that listing with an MLS ID.
  • Featured Homes on the website
To ensure your listings are featured on the home page of your website, you must enter your Agent MLS ID number in Profile Info. This replaces the Associate ID you entered when you had KWLS.
  • Saved homes
If one or more of your contacts have Saved KWLS properties to look at, it will now look to the contact as if those homes are no longer on the market, because the KWLS ID no longer exists on your website. We suggest the following as a typical email for you to send to active contacts.

I just upgraded my website to include listings from the entire Multiple Listing Service, so I hope you enjoy being able to see many more properties on the market! Please note, because I am getting these listings from a different source, any properties you previously saved might appear off market. I just wanted to give you a heads up so you do not get confused! If you would like me to send an updated list of properties in your price range, please let me know!

To help your contacts further, you can send them new links to their Saved properties in an email. To do so, use the following steps.
    1. In

      Market

      Leader

Professional Edition, identify the KWLS ID numbers from their Saved listings.
    2. Using KWLS, look up each listing to find the address.
    3. In KWLS, find the MLS ID corresponding to the address.
    4. With the MLS IDs for each listing, proactively email the listings to clients using Send Listings in

      Market

      Leader

      Professional Edition.
The following screen shot shows what a contact sees for Saved listings.
  • Viewed homes

    Market

    Leader

Professional Edition provides a detailed view of what listings a contact viewed. When switching from KWLS, previously viewed properties appear off market, because the KWLS listing ID number is not recognized in the system. KWLS IDs have been replaced with MLS IDs. If you would like to update those id numbers, you can look up the KWLS ID, outside of

    Market

    Leader

Professional Edition, and use that information to figure out which listings a contact viewed. Please see the following screenshot.

We are excited to bring you this powerful upgrade to the Market Leader system.
